SLOSA 3 Gun Match Information
IF YOU ARE NEW TO COMPETITIVE SHOOTING AND ARE INTERESTED IN 3 GUN, WE REQUIRE YOU TO HAVE SHOT AT LEAST ONE TYPE OF PISTOL MATCH AND HIGHLY SUGGEST SHOOTING A TACTICAL SHOTGUN MATCH BEFORE SHOOTING 3 GUN. THIS IS DUE TO SAFETY WITH THE MORE COMPLICATED 3 GUN STAGES. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, EMAIL US AT USPSA.SLOSA@GMAIL.COM
San Luis Obispo Action Pistol is hosting 3 gun Matches every other month. The matches have courses of fire for both traditional three gun and rimfire by pre-approval. (Contact the match director before the match setup if you wish to shoot rimfire.) The 3-gun matches have 5 or 6 Stages with estimated round counts of 100 Rifle, 100 shotgun (10 slugs, 90 birdshot), and 75 pistol. No ammo containing steel projectiles is permitted and cause for DQ at SLOSA. A lot of .223 ammo manufactured in Europe has a steel jacket with a copper coating and cannot be used. Check your projectiles (bullets) with a magnet before you bring it. There are five divisions: Open, Tactical Scope, Limited Heavy Metal Limited and Heavy Metal Optics. We usually shoot steel targets out to 300 yards. Cost is 40.00 for non-members and 30.00 for SLOSA members. Previous competition experience is preferred before you sign up. If you have not participated in at least one pistol match (USPSA, IDPA, ICORE) prior to trying 3-gun please email us with your phone number so we can contact you before the match weekend.
Walk up sign in opens at 0800 am and close at 0845 am. Walkthrough at 9 and then we shoot!
So come out and have a great time in beautiful Morro Bay California.
The equipment for the divisions usually works out something like this:

Tactical Optics: Rifle with a single variable power optic, pistol, 12 or 20 gauge shotgun.
Limited: Rifle with non magnified optic or iron sights, pistol, 12 or 20 gauge shotgun.
Heavy Metal Limited: .308 rifle with non magnified optic or iron sights, 45 cal pistol, 12 gauge pump shotgun.
Heavy Metal Optics: .308 rifle with a single variable power optic, .45 pistol, pump or semi auto 12 gauge shotgun.
