http://www.idpaforum.com/ is now "the official IDPA forum".
Nationals Match Video - Jordan Ohlmann posted a video showing most of the 17 stages at the 2009 IDPA Nationals. What's particularly interesting are the stages shown from his "hat-cam" vantage point. You can get a good view of how he uses cover and "pies" around walls. On Youtube.
IDPA club update info - In order to cut down on spam issues, John has started a Yahoo group to keep in touch with shooters. If you want to join this group, click this link and then click the "Join This Group" button. Once you've joined, you can click the "Edit Membership" link to specify whether you want to receive email, and how often.

Saturday, October 2, 2010 Approximately 6 stages, 100-130 rounds Walk-ons welcome! Please - no bills larger than $20 for match registration. NOTE: We are now closing registration at 8:45 AM. New Shooters: If you haven't shot with us before, please check the new shooters info under Match Details on this page.
A great resource if you haven't shot IDPA before is Ted Murphy's info packet (it's a PDF so you need the Adobe reader.) Ted was match director for the 2007 and 2008 IDPA National Championship matches. Also visit the IDPA website where you can download the current rulebook (PDF), the new (2010) addendum to the rulebook, back issues of their Tactical Journal magazine, and get other information. IDPA rules allow new shooters to shoot one match without joining the International Defensive Pistol Association. After that, you need to be a member. You can join online on the IDPA website. Membership currently costs $40 per year. |

We will be holding an IDPA Safety Officer class at the SLOSA range on Sunday, October 3. Our regular club match will be on Saturday, October 2... so folks from afar can get double-duty out of the drive over if they wish. Sign-up is through GPal. Reservation for the class requires a $100 deposit. $60 of that will be refunded the day of the class. The deposit is non-refundable. We are limiting the class to 15 participants and are closing registration on Friday, September 10. IDPA requires that the class be at least 8.5 hours, which includes classroom time and range time. It's a great way to get more familiar with IDPA. If you pass the test at the end of the class, you will get a new IDPA membership card saying "Safety Officer" and will be able to help out at sanctioned matches as well as at club matches. It's been two years since the last class we held. So if you're interested, take advantage of this opportunity.
